Project Details

The project consisted of the excavation of the construction of a new, permanent, spoil containment structure, the excavation of approximately 47,000m3 of sediment, marine transport via sealed dumpscows to a constructed off-loading facility and trucking to the containment facility.

All dredging was conducted inside a moon-pool / turbidity curtain utilizing Dean’s GPS-positioned hydraulic excavator which was equipped with a level-cut, environmental clamshell bucket. Turbidity from dredging operations as well as from run-off at the disposal facility was ongoing. Additional works included the clearing and grubbing of a woodlot and the installation of a permanent chain-link fence at the containment facility.
