Project Details

This project rehabilitated the dockwall along Berths 424, 425, 426 and 431 in the Port of Toronto as part of CreateTO’s efforts to vitalization works in the Cherry Street area of downtown Toronto.

The existing concrete cap and auxiliary elements were demolished.  Dean supplied and installed 364 lineal meters of 12m to 15m long steel sheet piling, including the related tie-rods and steel sheet pile dead-man wall.  The required excavation required the containment and off-site disposal of 8,700t of contaminated soil and the supply and placement of the required backfill.  12,600t of stone protection was installed along Berth 431.  A reinforced concrete cap was installed along the length of the works, along with the related fenders, bollards and safety ladders.
